Who do women really dress for?...

So when we decide to get all dolled up before an outing, wether its with or without our men (as some of us are taken, and some of us are single.) who do we really DRESS UP for? ... now as a true fashionista i can only speak for myself by saying i really dress for MYSELF but if i had to choose between the 2 genders i would say i dress more for women then i do for men, and ill explain why! Men don’t get fashion, they just don’t! Even the ones who may seem hip, and “with it” still don’t. They are more conservative... like try explaining what colorblock is to men, or chevron, or why we need to own 10 pairs of black heels when they are all just black. When you see men wearing designers (and this goes also for women btw), it doesn’t mean they are fashion forward, or appreciate fashion in any way shape or form. It just means they are buying this item because a well known designer made it and perhaps I’m cool and more accepted if i wear it (and even with that said they keep it conservative.)  A true fashion lover can turn any outfit (labels or not) into something that looks super expensive and “designer” looking. So when i go out and i get dressed my way, my style, whatever i feel like throwing on in that moment... i can either get the reaction of “wow” (when I’m wearing a plain black bandage mini dress, if you know what i mean) from a man...or “omg, what are you wearing.” (When i have my leather gloves, shorts with fishnet stockings, and some crazy Michael Jackson looking jacket on.) Now if i had to have that same reaction from a woman it would go more like... “wow, i love your style...you look so cool, so fashion forward, ARE You in fashion?” (Without fail i get that all the time!) Now on rare occasions, there are those men that do get it, and do appreciate it....But for real, us ladies that really love and are into fashion know we dress for women we do not dress for men! It’s funny because the other night i just had a conversation with my boyfriend in regards to this see threw dress/top that i want to wear braless! Yes BRALESS!!! Now of course my nipples are going to show, but so what? It’s so in and trendy...and when you truly love fashion, and styling... your not wearing that outfit to attract sexual attention (or for sexual matters)...your wearing it because you love the look, you feel good in it, you appreciate it in an artists point of view. Well ... this specific top he was like hell no to the “braless” idea, but there was an amazing see threw jumpsuit i wore during Art Basel in Miami, and it was so amazing, i felt like Rihana in it! (No lies!) everyone loved and appreciated it (not in a sexual matter), and he honestly loved it himself and totally understood what the outfit truly meant! Below i will attach  an example of what i meant about who we really dress up for... as well as my see threw jumper that was a total hit during Art Basel Miami 2018.

Like which man would understand why i would be wearing this on a Wednesday?

I went super couture with this look... because i just woke up that day feeling it!

And here’s the see threw jumper I totally rocked! I paired it with Guiseppe Zanotti heels, and a Jimmy Choo clutch. Coincidentally enough I actually got this jumper and the tulle top in the photo above from the same local boutique in Miami (both being see threw, fashion forward and all.)

Behind What The Fashionista is… Sarah Eliav Jewelry

I know i have mentioned before in previous posts that i am a jewelry designer, aside from styling and being totally addicted to fashion, blogging, and what not. I do also appreciate and love many other jewelry designer and manufacturers, and work with many of them on the daily, as well as sell there pieces. I believe jewelry and fashion go hand in hand of course, because it is an accessory...and dresses up an outfit beautifully. Some jewelry pieces look so good on it honestly doesn’t even need clothing, hence the quote “Diamonds are a girls best friend.” I mean I would totally walk around naked next to my best friend lol. Below i will post my outfit of the day a long with my jewelry pieces that i truly love. Layering and stacking is my MOTTO, And i would never sell anything that i myself wouldn’t personally wear (which i guess can get me into a lot of trouble sometimes, if you know what i mean.) Enjoy my look and my designs and feel free to comment or like at anytime or reach out for inquiries and feedbacks! You can also follow my instagram page: @saraheliavjewelry or check out my website: www.saraheliavjewelry.com.

Also as you can see in my first photo i am wearing some of my pieces as well as other designers that are my fave (example: Cartier, VCA.) feel free to comment and subscribe.

Accessorizing

I want to talk about accessorizing for a bit... so what is it about accessorizing us women love? ... because obviously most men don’t get it at all! What is it about adding things onto ourselves and our look that makes us feel so good? There’s shoes, bags, headpieces, jewelry, belts, even socks! Our socks have even become an accessory nowadays... but if you pay close attention, it really does fulfill the outfit and give it so much more when you accessorize! You can turn the most boring outfit into a masterpiece! Some women fear accessorizing. They feel like they cant pull it off, or that its too much! And that less is more (It’s really NOT!) i live by this: “Less IS NOT more!” More is MORE! …But its like deep down they really want to go for it, but are held back. Maybe they are thinking they will be judged? Or made fun of? Or not comfortable in there own skin? And that people will stop and stare (but not the good kind of stare, the kind of stare like “you look like a freak.”) ... for me like i have mentioned many times before and if you know me YOU KNOW, there are absolutely no rules when it comes to the way i dress, to fashion, to styling, to how trendy i can be! And yes people will stare! But it’s the good kind of stare! The “wow, she looks so stylish! I want to be able to dress like that and pull it off!” (And yes you can!) Below is an example of how i love to accessorize, and hope it gives every woman a boost to go for it! And not feel fear, or any sort of uncomfort to do so.... ENJOY!

So here’s an example of accessorizing to the MAX… i am wearing a pearl headband to go along with my black skirt that has pearl accent to it… my top has a waist Michael Kors belt around it with a Chanel brooch. I have Chanel sunglasses on with black leather Karl Lagerfeld gloves (that i had got in London.) I have a trendy grunge style Chanel purse, with Valentino rockstud kitten heels and sparkling black crew cut socks from a store called Pull and Bear (from Spain.) I also have a ton of jewelry on, as i’ve mentioned in one of my previous blogs i am a jewelry designer as well, and personally love jewelry! i love layering, and like i’ve said before “More is MORE” some are my actual designs as well as other designers like Cartier and VCA …..and let me just add…people were staring because they actually loved and appreciated it! So don’t ever be afraid to accessorize.

Sarah Never Stops...

We all have our daily routines. We know how we want to start our day, and exactly how we want to end it. I am definitely what you would call a routine kind of gal. I wake up each morning and try to get a workout in, in the AM. Although i do sometimes workout in the evenings, i feel that getting it out of the way early in the morning not only makes me feel more energetic, but also makes me feel complete. What you don’t know about me is that i am a major workout junkie....but this is a topic that will be talked about another time. Once my workout is done i shower, get dressed (honestly super quick, although it may seem like it took me hours to get ready), and start my day. Besides for fashion, styling, blogging, i am also a jewelry designer...therefore you can imagine how compact my day can be. I guess you can also say i have a bit of ADHD, because i rarely find myself sitting or in one place for a long period of time. Even if i am home i am either organizing, cooking something in the kitchen, cleaning something (because i am OCD) ...rarely sitting basically. I also have 2 amazing girls (which is also a topic i would like to save for another time) So you can imagine how SARAH NEVER STOPS! Below is an example of one of these days, with my full look of the day!

In regards to my full look above... i decided to wear a hat today because i honestly just felt like it. I wore these really amazing black and white Swarovski PRADA sunglasses that I’ve had for years and haven’t worn in so long, along with a top that i bought at a local boutique in Miami, (and as I’ve mentioned before I LOVE anything sequins.) My jacket and skirt is from ZARA, with a super sparkly JIMMY CHOO bag. I also decided to wear my pony hair VALENTINO rockstud shoes with some super in style FENDI crew cut socks! this was my run around outfit of the day.

Some Days I Wander...

There are days where I feel like I don’t want to do the same thing, I want to fall out of my routine, I want to eat or try something different, OR a different coffee shop to relax in and work out of perhaps? I don’t want to go on google, and start searching, I just want to get in my car, drive, and WANDER around. See what I can find, basically letting my car lead me to whatever may be or seem appealing and intriguing to me. TODAY was one of those days. I was initialing driving my way towards Wynwood area in Miami, FL ...But as my mind was racing about other things that are happening in life, i realized i was on the wrong street...but was i? Perhaps not. I came across this really cool graffiti wall art. It was a woman/girl kind of like me lol, she was holding a glass of wine (my fave), and just chilling with her adidas sneakers on. As i was intrigued and starring at this wall art, i realized its a coffee shop, and right by the front of the door there was the cutest old style French bicycle with a basket of flowers on it, literally the only thing missing was baguettes hanging out of it. It was also one of my favorite colors, a teal like blue. I said to myself, 1- I really need a coffee right now, and 2- I need a photo with this! Luckily they even had free parking that belongs to the coffee shop itself (they also serve wine and food FYI.) It was called “Pandoree Cafe.” Below you will find some images, as well as my outfit for the day, which happened to be very casual chic. Oh and i almost forgot, they serve Lavazza Coffee, which is one of my favorite coffee brands from Italy. ENJOY!

What caught my eye initially was the wall painting above, she seems pretty cool and stylish, and loves wine just like me……. lol.

And the two images above was my full look of the day (i still can’t believe that dumpster behind me went so well with my outfit.) like i said casual chic! Miu Miu bag, Warby Parker eyewear, Chanel flats, Leather jacket from Firenze, Italy, and Jeans and Top from American Eagle, that i paired with a Chanel Brooch.

Holding On To Your Stuff...

I know all of us have heard this one too many times, “Style Repeats Itself.” Well it definitely is true… I mean I feel so young I sometimes don’t think I will see it so soon for myself, but besides for bellbottoms, skinny jeans, crop tops, and 80’s hair, even handbags!!! Dior literally brought out the same exact style, look, logo print, and colors, of the handbag I had when I was 16! That I did not see coming! Even Fendi with the large double F logo’s are back (I can’t even begin to tell you how many of those I gave away.) The point is … HOLD ON TO YOUR STUFF, you’d really be surprised! Unless your looking for an upgrade or you need the extra cash, KEEP IT. Aside from that, Dior had recently opened up a Cafe in Miami Design District and its BEAUTIFUL. There Cappuccino/Latte not only tastes great, it even has there LOGO on it! (Definitely instagram worthy!) #DoITForTheGram. Below are some photos of my Dior look and outfit, with my now “vintage” Dior bag from when I was 16! That is totally back in style! Yay me. Enjoy.

Things that SPARKLE...

Many of you that know me, know that I am a huge fan of anything that sparkles and shines. Now I’m sure I’m not the only one that loves sparkling things. So what is it exactly that makes us drawn to shiny object and things that sparkle?… aside from clothing, bags, shoes, and jewelry, we as humans even get excited about fireworks, why? because it sparkles, right? Its in the air…we stare at it even if we don’t want to, its kind of hard to look away from it. It makes us happy inside, it gives us a tingling feeling, makes us shine and feel good. We even believe that unicorns sparkle, and they don’t even exist, but we all want to be one right? Long story short, we all love it! And want to wear it all over our bodies! Here are some of my looks that SPARKLE…

Above are two of my favorite outfits that i had worn during Art Basel in Miami. One was a see threw black jumpsuit that sparkles of course (i felt like Rihanna in it), i paired it with Giuseppe Zanoti booties and a Jimmy Choo clutch. On the right i wore a blazer outfit with a crop top underneath, i paired it with a pair of Jimmy Choo heels that i haven’t worn in so long! but it matched perfectly.

Miami LifeStyle

So, let’s talk about my hometown for a bit… Miami! When people hear this city they right away think … “Paradise” …. and yes that is exactly what it is, (but we do have our flaws, believe it or not we are superficial AF!) You have the mixture between City and Island life. Your surrounded by beautiful water, and then again your hustling for that good life, as you would in a major city. Miami is known for being vibrant, colorful, no rules, party scene, for the retired, basically the GOOD LIFE! Here’s some “Miami Looks” ….

IMG_4872.jpeg

here’s an example of winter in Miami … like who even wears this much color during winter time? Well here in Miami we do… especially me! Below are some more “Miami” looks…
