Karl Lagerfeld aka “Labelfeld”
It is only right! To write about this Legend, being that i am a fashion blogger. Karl Otto Lagerfeld, who passed about 2 days ago on February 19, 2019. Now I’m sure most of the NON fashion world is thinking “So What? People die all the time, some who are not even spoken of, or of “more importance”. But fact is that if so much of the world, especially the fashion world is saddened and shocked (although he did live to 85) then there must be purpose and reasoning. Firstly he’s an ICON, and a Fashion legend/guru. He was a German creative director of the French fashion house “Chanel” (which is by far my favorite designer) as well as “Fendi” which he began in 1983 till his death. Now I’m going to skip this whole history lesson, since this is public info and easily found on Wikipedia and google, which you can easily access and educate yourselves on this fashion icon. I really want to write about my point of view in situations as this one. Now its without a doubt that he was so successful, and extremely wealthy, and was able to do, and say things that will change the future of fashion forever! But also this is a reminder to us all, that we are only human, and we are not invincible or immortal (although we do walk and prance around like we will be here forever and ever forgetting that life is the ultimate gift and we should never take it for granted). Everyone has there time, there beliefs in what life after death is and so on and so forth. Now Karl did make history, but as humans we were designed to also forget... especially when it comes to situations of death and pain, as the famous quote goes “Time heals all wounds.” We don’t realize that every morning when we wake up we stress for more, we stress for perfection (whatever that even means), we run around, we forget tiny important moments because we are always rushing to do something, or get somewhere. Now im in no means preaching here, since i myself try hard to work on MYSELF to enjoy special and tiny moments, especially when it comes to family since we do not know exactly our expiration dates! But its also far more than that! It’s also about doing what you LOVE, and not doing things ultimately for the money aspect of things. I believe if someone does what they LOVE, the energy that they will be putting out there will automatically make them successful, thus leading them into money making without even purposely trying, it’ll just come naturally. Also entrepreneurship is by far the most attractive thing, wether your a man or woman! I believe you should do everything in your power to always make it on your own and be legendary just like Karl, and not have to rely on a single person, as i said before we are designed to forget, and unfortunately people will also forget the good you did for them. Therefore always make sure your have your own thing going for you! And if its something that you LOVE it’s even a bigger plus! I think each and every one of us is legendary and beyond a gift, if god chose us to be here (for those of you who believe in god, obviously i do...) especially since this isn’t an easy world to live in, then we are already making history and we are all capable of being whatever it is that we want to be! God knew we were strong enough to be here in order to conquer, whatever it is that we LOVE, and share with the world. Remaining positive is key! Below i will post a few photos in honor of KARL LAGERFELD. One of which was me sitting on the stairs of Coco Gabrielle Chanel’s former apartment and first boutique in Paris, France. Which later on turned into Karl Lagerfeld’s office where he would work out of, and conduct many runway shows for the house of Chanel. Please feel free to reach out or comment, anytime! I always love to hear feedback.
As you can see i am starring right up into his office, wearing some Chanel fingerless gloves (Karl’s fave) with a Chanel boy bag, I’m also super obsessed with Chanel brooches, so besides for wearing one, I also purchased a beautiful one in that boutique, which wasn’t in the U.S., the second photo is of me standing right outside the boutique itself, on Rue Cambon 31.
I took this photo in London at his store front, as you can see my reflection in the window...prior to doing some major damage in the store lol! He was always so good at collaborating with other artists and designers! It’s as if he believed to give everyone a chance in creativity. As you can see, at that moment he was doing a collaboration with Kaia Gerber, the daughter of former super model Cindy Crawford.
